Our group is going to introduce a great Italian director and screenwriter —— Federico Fellini，who was called “The Holy Trinity of Modern Art Film”with Ingmar Bergman and Andre Takovsky.
And we’re going to focus on the factors which showed deep influence on his creations.
First is literature. Franz Kafka’s world famous novel The Metamorphosis deeply impressed Fellini. Since then，Fellini started to be concerned with literature and began to write script.
Second is dream. Fellini’s films were always full of incredible illusions and absurd imagination. And from his perspective，dream is the only reality. Dream is the theme of his life.
Third，circus. Fellini had been keen on juggling acts and circus performance since young. And he even once run away from home to join the circus. Later in his films，we can also find a reflection of his“circus complex”.
The last one is family. Fellini used to get inspiration from his wife’s performance.
We will make a further research in our report.
