吳怡慧、張雅菁、周稚苹 Chroniques d’une cour de récré

It is full of slow steps in this movie. At the beginning people have to pay more concentrate on it, or it is likely to fall a sleep.Gradually, the story between every character start, and the audiences can know what happen to the father and what happen to the child and his friends.
If we try to analyze this film, perhaps we can found out that there are three major places for Brahim to play. The first one is factory; the second one is his family, and the third one is elementary school. Factory is held Brahim’s hopes, especially the overhead cranes. Many people held out a battle tied with string, and put the battle through cranes. So while factory is going to be closed, people’s hopes are also be “closed”, too. And no one fulfill their dream, including Brahim’s. His hope breaks in the end, too, and he has no ability to protect the factory.
Brahim’s second playground is his own family. In fact, Brahim is not be born in rich family; however, even though there are three children in his family, but his mom and dad are not loves him less, and fortunately he still has his belonged childhood. His finds one camera without negative, and then shooting for so many times. It seems like, to Brahim, the camera is a symbol of realitybecause he have no money to buy negatives; but the behavior of shooting people or scenes, is a symbol of his dream because he sets up his own memory through his camera.
The last major playground is Brahim’s school. Students study and play together, and also sometimes punished by their president or teacher. Brahim is not a quiet, well-spoken boy, sometimes he makes his president angry, and then he needs to work in school because of punishment. But because of punishment, he meets one life-long friend, who called Salvador, and taking advantages in school, rich man’s villa, or even Brahim’s home and factory.
It is sad at the end because they have to say goodbye to the “playground”,at the same time they have to accept the truth that their father is unemployed and the child’s friend has to leave. We may see a lot of meaning in the movie, for example, when the children are making the French fries, it represents that the employers start to strike. When the boy falls a sleep, we can feel his scare or see his imagine(that may represent what he wants or what he doesn’t want) ,which doesn’t appear in his daily life.
